It is a holy mitzvah to visit the sick and the infirmed as well as to help with other necessary activities such as rides to a doctor or bringing in meals. Even stopping by to walk an animal can be of great help.

Many of you have volunteered over the years to be on the Bikkur Cholim committee and found it highly rewarding. And, we invite you to continue this mitzvah. We are always open to new volunteers. Even an hour a month could make a difference in someone's life that you might touch by performing this duty, as well as your own wellbeing that comes from having given to another person.

To volunteer, please contact either Lauren Minkin, our rabbinic assistant, at 310 456 2178 or Veda Kaplan.  We will plan a volunteer committee training sometime in the near future in order to present the Jewish guidelines for visiting the sick.

Thank you and we'll look forward to hearing from you.
